Schlumberger Recognized as a Top Employer

Schlumberger acknowledged as one of the most attractive companies to work for in Norway and Malaysia

Working at the forefront of one of the most innovative industries in the world offers unique opportunities for our people to push the boundaries of what’s possible and achieve ambitious personal and professional goals. We have always strived to create a culture of meritocracy, where employees are encouraged to share ideas, make an impact, and contribute to our continuous improvement as well as their own personal growth in a friendly and supportive environment.

Norway

In 2019, employer-branding company Randstad began conducting surveys in Norway to find out where people would most like to work. Last year Schlumberger placed at number seven, and this year we have climbed the ranks to number two. Participants were asked to select from a list of the 75 largest companies and consider what mattered most to them when choosing to join a company, and what would make them want to stay—for example, exciting work tasks, employee benefits, company reputation, and work-life balance.

“We have a continual focus on developing employees and offering good career opportunities, both nationally and internationally,” said Schlumberger HR Manager Maj Britt who received the silver award on behalf of Schlumberger during the digital award ceremony. “For us high engagement is important—it should be fun to work at Schlumberger.”

Malaysia

The accolades continued in Malaysia where Schlumberger was selected as one of top ten employers by GRADUAN Brand Awards 2019—based on more than 14,000 respondents sharing their preferences on ideal employers and industries. This translates to a 29 place climb up the ranks in the space of one year. Schlumberger also ranked fourth in the energy sector for this award.

Schlumberger was also named Malaysia’s fourth most attractive graduate employer in both the engineering and oil and gas categories at the 2020/2021 Graduate’s Choice Awards. Over 24,000 undergraduates voted for their employer of choice from a pool of over 700 companies. The awards will be presented in January 2021 in a virtual ceremony.

“At Schlumberger the atmosphere is dynamic and captivating—we empower our people wherever we can to make an impact,” said Chua Han Jim, Schlumberger Recruiting Manager for South East Asia. “It’s great that this has been recognized by employees and new recruits. It is our ambition to sustain these recognitions and ensure we continue to fuel the industry with the best talents.”
